Patient Spotlight: Mary Jane O’Brian and Her Spinal Stenosis Surgery

While neck and back injuries may seem simple on the surface, these injuries can have devastating consequences. Suffering from these injuries can have you feeling as if your quality of life has been reduced and can leave your loved ones frantic for answers. Thanks to quality treatment from Dr. Jared Stefanko, Mary Jane O’Brian was able to regain her quality of life.

About Mary Jane O’Brian’s Treatment

Mary Jane O’Brian suffered from spinal stenosis, a painful narrowing of the spaces in between the spine, putting excessive pressure on her nerves. In addition to the stenosis, she also had a pinched nerve and bad disc. Initially, Mary Jane tried not to worry about the injuries and tried handling them on her own as best as possible. However, after she began experiencing increasing numbness in her hands and an inability to raise her arms, she knew it was time to seek treatment.

Mary Jane’s previous surgeon, Dr. Seth, recommended she see Dr. Jared Stefanko. During her consultation with him, he thoroughly explained her condition as well as taking the time to go into detail about the treatment needed to help her. Mary Jane remarks that she immediately felt comfortable choosing Dr. Stefanko to treat her.

After the surgery, Mary Jane’s life is back to normal, and she is experiencing an increased quality of life. She also remarks that the scar on her neck from the surgery is barely visible, giving her extra satisfaction and confidence. After her surgery, Mary Jane mentioned that she felt no hesitation in choosing Dr. Stefanko because “he is just a good soul.”
