Michael D. Barnett, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon originally from Milford, Ohio, who is fellowship-trained in complex conditions of the foot and ankle.
When other forms of treatment are not effective in easing your foot or ankle pain, surgery is often recommended. Dr. Barnett has advanced training in complex procedures including revision foot and ankle surgeries, flatfoot and high arch reconstructive procedures, bunions, hammertoes, neuromas, fusions, arthroscopy, minimally invasive techniques, ankle ligament repair and others.
Education
Dr. Barnett earned his medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine in 2000 and then went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at Akron General Medical Center in 2005 and orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery fellowship at Portland Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Center in 2006.
Dr. Barnett received several honors and recognitions during medical school, including being asked to join the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Published Work & Accomplishments
Dr. Barnett has participated in a number of research studies and has had his work featured in prominent orthopaedic journals such as the Journal of Trauma: Injury, Infection & Critical Care, Techniques in Foot & Ankle Surgery, and more as well as authoring a book chapter on reconstruction of cavovarus foot deformity.
