John D. Idoine III, DO

Dr. John D. Idoine III is a fellowship-trained and board-certified orthopaedic surgeon from Knox County, Ohio. He is specially trained to treat complex conditions in the shoulder and elbow, but he also enjoys treating other common orthopaedic conditions including arthritis in the hip and knee, and fractures that need surgical care.

Before coming to serve the Northeast Ohio community at OrthoUnited, Dr. Idoine was treating patients at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio.

When other forms of treatment are not effective in easing your shoulder or elbow pain, surgery is often recommended. Dr. Idoine is well experienced with technologically advanced methods designed to get patients home faster and with better results, such as total shoulder arthroplasty.

Education

Dr. Idoine earned his medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2008 and then went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital and fellowship in shoulder and elbow Surgery at University Hospitals.

During medical school, Dr. Idoine, received several honors and recognitions, including becoming a member of the Osteopathic Academic Fraternity Sigma Sigma Phi, as well as receiving Honors in Orthopaedic Research Rotation from Grant Medical Hospital and Honors in Radiology Clerkship from OhioHealth Doctor’s Hospital.

Dr. Idoine has participated in a number of research studies and has had his work featured in prominent orthopaedic journals such as Orthopaedic Traumatology and Surgical Research, Seminars in Arthroplasty, The Orthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine, Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma and more.
