Matthew Stonestreet, MD

Dr. Stonestreet trained at Akron General Medical Center and completed additional fellowship training at The CORE Institute in Phoenix, AZ, one of the country’s highest-volume joint reconstruction centers. His practice incorporates muscle-sparing approaches to hip and knee replacement, robotic-assisted technology, and advanced techniques for complex primary and revision joint replacement, with an emphasis on minimizing disruption to surrounding tissue and supporting a more efficient recovery.

With appointments available at OrthoUnited’s Alliance, Canton, and Dover campuses, patients throughout Stark and Tuscarawas Counties can access fellowship-trained joint replacement expertise close to home rather than traveling to Akron, Cleveland, or other major health systems for advanced orthopaedic care.

Outside the office, Dr. Stonestreet and his wife are the proud parents of one daughter; he enjoys reading historical fiction and staying active with his family.

Education

Dr. Stonestreet completed his residency at Akron General Medical Center, after receiving his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Youngstown State University. He completed fellowship training at The CORE Institute in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Stonestreet masters these techniques through Academy sponsored courses and continuing medical education classes. His practice incorporates the newest techniques and technologies available for joint replacement surgery including robotic assisted joint replacement.
