Neil Soehnlen, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement, with a focus on advanced, minimally invasive techniques. He utilizes contemporary muscle-sparing knee replacement, direct anterior hip replacement, and robotic-assisted joint replacement technology to provide precise, individualized care — reducing postoperative pain and helping patients return to daily activities and sport faster than with traditional surgical approaches.

A Stark County native and graduate of Tuscarawas Valley High School, Dr. Soehnlen completed his adult reconstruction fellowship at Cleveland Clinic before choosing to bring that level of training back home to the patients he grew up around. For patients across Stark and Tuscarawas Counties, this means Cleveland Clinic–trained joint reconstruction is available at OrthoUnited’s Dover, Fairlawn, and OMNI campuses — without the trip to Cleveland itself.

Outside of work, Dr. Soehnlen enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and being outdoors.

Education

Dr. Soehnlen completed an accelerated BS/MD program including undergraduate studies at the University of Akron, and earned his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Akron. While at NEOMED, Dr. Soehnlen was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honorary. He performed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Wright State in Dayton, OH, and completed his training with an adult reconstruction fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic where he focused on complex total joint replacement.
