Thomas G. Cheslik, MD

Dr. Cheslik specializes in direct anterior hip replacement, muscle-sparing hip and knee replacement techniques, robotic-assisted joint replacement, and revision surgery for patients whose prior joint replacement needs correction—a service line that isn’t available at every practice in the region. His approach emphasizes preserving healthy muscle and surrounding tissue when possible to support recovery and help patients return to everyday activities.

For patients in Canton, North Canton, Massillon, and throughout Stark County, this means access to advanced primary and revision joint replacement expertise close to home, without automatically needing to travel to Cleveland or Columbus for a second opinion or repeat surgery.

Education

He earned his medical degree from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in 2013 and then completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at Wright State University where he was honored to serve as the Administrative Chief Orthopaedic Resident.

Dr. Cheslik then continued his specialized training with an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute before joining the team at OrthoUnited.

Published Work & Accomplishments

Dr. Cheslik contributed his research, “The Popularity of Outcome Measures Used in Shoulder Arthroplasty Literature.” for publication with The British Elbow and Shoulder Society in 2020 and “The Affordable Care Act: Long-Term Financial Impact on a Level I Trauma Center” published in the Journal of Surgical Research in 2019. Additionally, his article, “Constrained Liners During Acetabular Revision: Clinical Results of an Impingement Avoidance Strategy”, was published in the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons’ Journal of Arthroplasty in 2025.
